These recordings are from 1988, after Ogdon's return from illness. The playing is still technically remarkable for the most part, but there is a perfunctory pall over the whole lot that was not present in his earlier playing. This is a great set if you want to hear Ogdon's later work, or just want to hear what these pieces are supposed to sound like; otherwise, my recommendation is not wholly enthusiastic.
