Concertos for Piano 1-5, Violin & Cello - Classical Music Masterpieces for Concerts, Study & Relaxation

This release provides an inexpensive way to own most of Saint-Saens' concertos and concertante works. The infrequently performed and recorded 1st and 2nd violin concertos and violin concertante works are especially good. The piano concertos,played by Aldo Cicciolini are fine, although I prefer the Pascal Roge recordings of similar vintage. I'll grant you that you can find better recordings of the cello concerto and the 3rd violin concerto; those have been recorded by almost every well-known soloist, but here you get pretty much all but the second cello concerto (anda decent 'Carnival of the Animals') cheaply in very good though analog sound.
