Sometimes a performance, either live or recorded, seems just right. For me, these concertos are performed to that level. Simply put, they are superb. To my ear, Zimerman's Beethoven is a perfect combination of elegance and brio, and Rattle and the LSO are every bit as good. So, whether you already love recordings made by Perahia, Lewis, Brendel, Kovaceviich, or some other brilliant artist, these recordings by Zimerman are worthy additions to your collection. As an added treat, the performances are provided in both CD and Blu Ray format. Highly recommended.
