After our last shower chair wore thru it's rubber feet and scratched our tub, I wanted a solution that wouldn't damage our apartment's bathroom while also providing a wide and stable seat. This is that solution.Our tub is a bit too narrow for most chairs, and small chairs are too unstable. This seat spans the whole tub, so you can even sit on it from the outside and slide over. Even though our tub's ledge by the wall is quite thin, it was still enough to support the bench because it is held firmly in place by the shelf. I love that it folds up and out of the way when not needed, so we can close the shower curtain completely. The shelves are an added bonus in my opinion, they're adjustable and really convenient for stashing our medicated washes and soaps.If you don't want to drill into your wall to mount this, after trial and error I found the best mounting solution was Adhesive Non-Drilling Wall Hangers, the kind that look like clear square stickers with a screw sticking out of the middle. The screw head spins off. The trick to mounting was positioning the shelf (this was hard but we used a lot of painters tape to temporarily hold it in place) and use a thin washable marker to dot the mounting holes on your shower wall. Then remove the shelf and adhere the hangers in their proper places. Remove the screw caps from the stickers, mount the shelf, hold it in place, and screw the caps back on to lock the shelf in place. The stickers are somewhat repositionable if you need to adjust them slightly.
