SF-16D48W: 16 Inch Energy Efficient DC Motor Stand Fan with Remote Control & Timer - Piano White for Home, Office, and Bedroom Cooling

This was the worst SPT fan I've ever owned. First of all it sits way too high (or too low) and cannot be adjusted....unless you completely remove one of the (two) poles off its chassis by twisting counter-clockwise. Good chance of misplacing it in the long term if you asks me! This also created an annoying problem for me as well since I occasionally like to 're-position' my fan from time to time by grabbing its body (the pole) and turn to sit in different positions, problem is I'll usually end up twisting it loose. Whatever happened to the good old-fashioned button that lets you either extend or lower from the pole? My 13-year-old SPT SF-1466 fan has it, which I am still using albeit a little old. Thought I might upgrade before it gives up on me, but not quite. I am back to my good old reliable tri-blade fan again. In comparison my 'oldie' outputs at much higher velocity on the lowest setting and blows a bit more cooler air than this newer 5-blade model.Another huge problem with this fan is that for whatever reasons it likes to turn itself OFF after 12 or so hours. The timers weren't set as I like to leave my fan running...until I manually shut it off that is. The incident had occurred twice, and left me sweating by surprise! I did some research on a similar fan manufactured by the same factory that made this fan and sure enough some reviewers are complaining about the same problem. In all honesty I really wanted to stick with the SPT brand since I am very happy with my older fan. Needless to say I longer owned this newer unit and bought another brand with very similar features compared to my old SPT fan and uses the newer DC motor.
