Description

The perfect solution for a small space where a counter top is needed, this folding workbench easily swings into the raised position, and heavy duty steel brackets lock into place for a 500 lb weight rating (when properly mounted into wall studs). When not being used, the brackets are simply released with fingertip pressure, and the top can be lowered against the wall to regain your space. Choose between a UV finished top that is ready to use, or the unfinished version which can be stained or lacquered to match any decor.

This is a very good product, just as advertised. It's spendy, but I got what I paid for. The shelf is beautifully finished, top, bottom and all edges. The manufacturer is a butcher block counter-top company, and the shelf looks like it came out of a high-end kitchen. The steel mounting brackets are very well finished too. I think they're powder-coated, a superior and durable finish. The shelf is easy to raise and lower, perfect for our smallish laundry room, so we lower it out of the way when not in use. It's REALLY solid. The company says it can support 500 pounds. I've not tested that, but from how it feels, I don't doubt it. Now that I see it, I've decided to get another for a small shop I'm planning. It will be just the ticket for a temporary workbench. I'd recommend it to anyone, no reservations.Find the company's video online for installation instructions because they are easier to understand than the written instructions. (Amazon's use policy won't let me post the link to EewToob). As the company advises, take your time and make sure the brackets are mounted to the wall exactly plumb, and that they are parallel to each other. I did that, and raising and lowering work perfectly. Another tip, the wood finish is so hard and smooth, my pencil marks for locating the screw holes just brushed off when I touched them. I had to mark again. Do it with ink or a punch, not pencil.
