I've used a lot of this exact style vise at work. For the money they are hard to beat even if you destroy them in several years. We have used one in an outdoor welding shop onboard an oil rig for over a year now and it gets used and abused every day. I doesn't look pretty and might be a little sloppy, but it still holds things tight. We have another one inside an engineering workshop and it is holding up very well. Gets used daily for hard projects! Now I'm sure you can get a bad one now and then, but for me, the abuse I've seen offshore makes it plenty good for my shop at home. I bought this one for the house, showed up in 4 days in a nice box from the MFG without a scratch or dent. Don't think about it...just buy it.
