Disclaimer: Just a home person who loves lifting so please be patient with the review and terms. Hopefully it's helpful to someone in a similar place, learning on their own as they go. My limited knowledge is from purchasing and trying on my own (it does work) so that might explain any inadequate descriptions or terminology that you may find below. I have done this before, but this is a second time building a gym because of a move and loss of gym space. Last time was in person, this time is online. Much different. I hadn't even known there were different bar length options because I just got what was in the store and it all worked fine.The barbell bar is as advertised. It's good. No issues with the construction, product or delivery. Clips were included. (They had a tie wrap on them, binding them firmly in the " spring" position. This seemed a bit wasteful of resources but also pointless and unsafe. If yours arrive the same, be very careful when cutting that off. It's under tension and will go flying fast through the air!)I have a smaller sized bar holder and bench (because of a small space to put it in), so I ordered the 5 ft. and it is far too small for the barbell stand. I did have an oversight, even though I measured, I was looking at gym stuff for so long that I had a brain lapse over the 5 ft being too short for the rack and was only thinking about the small space it needed to fit in.The 5 ft bar can only sit on the rack IF it sits further over to one side, without any weights on it. So, the part where the weight would be is where it has to sit (on one of the sides) to stay up there at all. If you do it this way only one of the safety latches can go over the bar since it is 2" thick there and the safety latch can't accommodate that.The 5 ft bar is good for a very small space if you can store it without a bench stand. (There are vertical stands, maybe that would be an option. I haven't tried one but it's a thought if someone needs a small space solution.)The space I am working with is pretty small, but I do still wish I had gone up a size because it definitely would have worked. And it would have fit the rack properly and safely.In a petless, kidless micro space, the 5 ft could be ideal. Would be a nice tiny home option.This IS the bar. Just look at dimensions and get the correct size.
