We were looking for a sturdy, pub height bench that was not upholstered. We have young grand children and upholstery, especially at the dining room table, is in mortal danger around them This bench went together easily, is very sturdy, is durable and easy to clean. It is an excellent value for the money. So much so that this is the second one we ordered. We have two of these and no chairs normally now. We kept the chairs to expand seating at holiday family gatherings. The only complaint I have is that it is not indestructible. Out first one has some marks where our new puppies, Great Pyrenees, chewed the legs. The dogs are older now and no longer chew, but I think we will live with the marks on the lower part of the legs on the one. Sanding and staining are not really an option because they are a processed wood product, not real wood, so they don't take to sanding anda staining well. But at the price, they are awesome.
