The legs are one inch square steel legs. The perpendicular legs are secured with 2 screws at the top and bottom. Mounting screws were not included and I not an issue.Con: the mounting screws have to thru the entire width of the leg, the hole that would go against the finished wood is only 3/8”, which is not an issue if you mounting with wood screws.. I chose to use metal inserts. I layed out the legs and market the holes, inserted the inserts. With the small holes it was very difficult to alighn the holes. This was a combination of the small hole and placement of the inserts being off a little.Resolution- I drilled out the small holes to the same diameter has the larger hole. I laid out the holes for the inserts one at a time thus minimizing errors. Installion was very easy now.
