My piano has always been too high for the bench that came with it and for years I have considered replacing it with an adjustable stool. Good wooden piano stools are very expensive however, and the inexpensive one we bought broke the first time someone sat on the edge of the seat.I saw this bench recently in the local music store and loved it, but they wanted $250 for it. Imagine my delight to discover it on Amazon for half the price. Delivery was super fast--I ordered Monday and received it Wednesday. I put it together myself in about 15 minutes with the tools that come in the box and now my young pianist can sit at the correct height finally. The bench is sturdy, comfortable, easy to adjust up or down, and looks great! No more stacks of books on my bench.UPDATE: After a few years of use the spot welds attaching the bench to the lift broke. I was able to get a friend who knew welding to re-weld it and now it is better than ever.
