The shelf itself was great, but the Velcro adhesive for the cushion was terrible. My toddler ripped it off really quickly. Wish there was a better way to keep the cushion in place. It’s also very easy to move, it will slide around really easy so we strapped it to the wall and it’s been great for our toddlers room.I bought this as something to have by my door and to also hold my shoes so my dog stops eating them. I seen everyone struggling to find to fit into the cubby holed. It comes packed with some protection, but not enough to adequately prevent damage on such weak material.* ASSEMBLY: The instructions were 90% clear (make sure you look ahead to the next page before attaching part G to part A), and assembly was easy, though it did take a little while since I'm slow (took about an hour). The cam screws they send are the weakest material in the world though. Every single one of them stripped out as soon as it started going into the wood, and that's using an exact perfect fit screwdriver. Unlike a lot of the furniture I've ordered lately, the holes actually lined up, so that was nice. It came with exactly all the screws and pieces needed, no extras, so don't break or lose one during assembly. It did not come with a phillips head screwdriver, which is the only tool you need to assemble it.* QUALITY: Most of the bench appears to be particle board, but the backing is a cardboard cutout. This is not mentioned anywhere in the description. Photo attached. All visible parts of the bench are finished, except the edges of the cardboard backing. Since it's particle board held together by a few screws, don't let any fat people sit on it nor kids jump on it. Sit gently or it will fall apart. Also, you can't see it in the ad photos, but it has 4 rubber feet on the bottom to help protect your wood floors, which is nice.* COLOR: The espresso color is accurate and matches all my other espresso furniture and items.* MISC.: The cushion comes with two velcro strips on the bottom side, with a sticky velcro strip attached to it that you can peel and attach to the seat of the bench to hold the cushion in place. The cushion appears white in the ad, but it's slightly off-white. Not very noticeable though.Overall I like the bench and will keep it. I'd probably even buy another. Just beware of omitted details like the cardboard backing, cheap materials (camscrews), and poor packing.We bought this bench for the entryway of our apartment and honestly it adds the perfect little touch of a warm homey feel. Putting it together was a bit of a pain, but afterwards it was pretty worth it.The only complaints I have about this would be that if you aren't super careful you can split the wood easily. We were a hair away from the slot for the screw and when we attempted to screw it in we heard the horrible crunch of the wood splitting. We got it back together with some wood glue but I would just recommend being super careful and just make sure that the screw is totally 100% in the slot.The other issue is just minor but they provide some adhesive velcro so you can keep the cushion in place on the bench. Sadly our velcro never really stuck well so we just went out and got our own. It's a minor inconvenience but it still would've been nice if the stuff they provided would have actually worked.Aside from that though it is pretty great and I would still recommended to anyone looking for a sort of cheap bench :)I wanted this for my bedroom, as a place to sit and put on / take off my shoes. It’s perfectly adequate. It’s not quite as strong or stout as what I’ve come to expect from IKEA, but it looks good and it’ll get the job done. The finish matches my other “Espresso” colored furniture that were purchased from various other sources. If you are a ninja master of building IKEA furniture, like I am, you can have this assembled in about 30 - 40 minutes. My only REAL complaint or concern is that the cam locks used in this piece are not very strong at all and some felt like they didn’t even lock in all the way. As others have said, I doubt this will last 10 years, and I would be surprised if it survived a move to a new house. The size, look, and finish are exactly what I was hoping for. For the price, with free shipping this was a good buy!It looks nice and very simple to install. I actually had no missing hardware for a change! It is cheap plastic type veneer press board with those barrel connectors which tend to break and not hold over time. However, it does have good looks and was the right size for our small area. Storage areas are small but manageable.Easy and fairly quick install. Back took the longest due to amount of screws but power screwdriver helped!Overall not bad. Would I buy again? probably not.Bench looks good, and is semi sturdy but don’t like the white cushion material which gets dirty quickly.Perfect size, great colour, sturdy and easy to assemble! A+! I purchased some floral bins that fit perfectly in the cubbies and they add a pop of colour. I am so glad I bought this bench, I can store so many pairs of shoes in each bin as well. Highly recommend!AMAZING quality for the price. Would highly recommend but I’m hoping to find a new cushion for it, one that’s a bit more comfier with some colour and hoping I won’t have too much trouble finding right baskets for it but over all I love it !!!!If the fabric on the cushion had been of better quality or just simply nicer looking, this would be a 5/5, but that cushion is made with some rough, ugly beige fabric that appears to be for outdoors furniture. Easy to assemble, took about 25 to 30 minutes. It doesn't come with a screwdriver (thankfully, I hate throwing out those single use tools!).A bit frustrating to out together. Many of the the places screws should fit into are not well pre drilled requiring a lot of effort. Did not have a drill and ended up hurting myself trying to do it with a screw driver. Ikea furniture is much easier to put together.This bench arrived fairly quickly. It did take some effort to put together, and it didn't come with it's own tools - I needed to use my own screwdriver. But I haven't had any problems with it since I've put it together. It's a nice, sturdy storage bench.
