I needed a new piano bench and didn’t want to spend a mint, this turned out to be the perfect balance between economy and quality.Assembly: I had to bolt on the four legs, one bolt and one lock washer for each leg. They include a tiny little crescent wrench, it’s either 14 mm or 9/16 inch. I used my own tools, a ratchet and socket, and assembly was quick and easy and took less than five minutes. The top padded bench lifts easily on and off and doesn’t require additional assembly.Finish: Glossy black piano finish, looks beautiful, matches any black piano.Adjustability: This is important to me. Like most high quality adjustable benches, this requires a lot of turns to move the bench up and down, which takes a little time but allows for very precise adjustments. The mechanism is sturdy and stays in place once set.No storage compartment for books. This would have been nice to have, but give this up to economy. I could not find any comparable benches in this price range of similar quality that included storage. I was happy to order this ahead of time knowing that it did not have a storage compartment.Comfort: Lightly padded and very comfortable. I don’t sink into the padding, so I can shift a little side to side on the bench while working up and down the keyboard. Deeper padding tends to glue me in one position. Bare wood can get a little tiresome. The padding on this bench is about perfect.Economy: Way worth it. I will use this for years.
