To me, this product was a little expensive, although it was $20 cheaper than my local Subaru dealer. However, it is a lot more expensive than a generic product that could accomplish the same thing. The key factor for me was the fact it has the cutouts for the baby seat latches as well as the seatbelts. I could not find another product out there where everything would line up perfectly and allow for the use of the latches. Installation didn't take long at all and everything is tight and looks great. Yeah, if I just wanted to protect the seats, there would be cheaper options that work but if you spend the money on an Ascent, why not get a quality piece that is custom fitted for all of the cutouts? Now I'm trying to find a similar item for the 3rd row.
